Dmytro Firtash has estimated the losses of his Group DF for 2014 at $1.5 billion, he said in an interview with the Glavcom publication.

“We have losses for three reasons. The first one – the loss of Crimea, the second – the war in the east [of Ukraine], and the third – the [economic] crisis. And there is the fourth one – the inept government. Of course, we suffered quite big losses… In 2014 we lost $1.5 billion,” he said.

Despite this, Firtash expressed interest in participating in a tender for the privatization of Odesa port-side chemical plant.

The businessman will make the final decision on the matter after conditions of the object privatization are approved as he fears discrimination.

Firtash said he supports privatization, including land privatization, but suggested that this isn’t the right time, as there is a danger of the country defaulting, and the price of the assets has been underestimated.

In this regard, Firtash also said that he has no plans to sell his assets, adding that his enterprises, except for his chemical enterprise which was stopped operating after gas was seized, are working.

He said the group has received a letter from the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food regarding the plan to provide farmers with fertilizers in autumn.

“We will provide. Don’t worry, we will solve this problem,” Firtash said, noting that in the previous years the group accumulated sufficient stocks.
