Private joint-stock company Datagroup, jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), is realizing a project to provide communications services to special forces and military men in the counterterrorist operation (ATO) zone, reads a press release of the operator issued on Monday, Sept. 1.

“As of late August 2014, a project on the provision of communications services in the ATO zone was realized jointly with the SBU. Under the order of SBU, the operation of the call center for Ukrainian citizens with information about threats of terrorism, separatism and sabotage activities was organized. The video surveillance in the filtration camps for displaced people was established. The system foresees the possibility of organizing video conferences,” Datagroup said.

In addition, the operator organized protected channels for data transfer for the Kyiv-2 and Aidar volunteer battalions.

At present, modern mobile comprehensive communications systems to organize quick cooperation of the state border guard, provide communications to task forces and combat units are being designed for the State Border Service.

Almost all projects were built on the basis of satellite solutions.

Datagroup said that the company provided financial aid to military men in the ATO zone worth some UAH 6 million.

“The funds were used to buy personal protection equipment and articles of prime necessity. Datagroup paid to outfit employees who go to serve in the ATO zone,” the company said.
