The trilateral contact group at its last meeting in Minsk on Sept. 1 exchanged proposals on key issues related to the situation in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

“According to the information that we got from the members of the trilateral contact group, the sides discussed some of the most important issues at a meeting yesterday – a bilateral ceasefire, border control, the release of hostages and ensuring security during the passage of humanitarian cargo to the east of Ukraine. The sides exchanged their positions on these issues,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

He added that the contact group had agreed to continue consultations in the near future.
