You're reading: CEC registers nearly 1,200 international observers for parliamentary elections in Ukraine

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered another 80 international official observers for early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, the commission's press service has reported.

The CEC at a meeting on Oct. 15 registered observers from the Czech Republic and Norway, as well as from four international organizations.

In particular, eight official observers were registered from the Czech Republic, seven from Norway, 39 from the Ukrainian World Congress, 21 from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, four from the International Human Rights Commission, and one from AEGEE-Europe/European Students’ Forum.

Thus, as of Oct. 15, the total number of registered international official observers has reached 1,189.

Early parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for Oct. 26.
