Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe U.S. General Philip Breedlove at a meeting in Kyiv on July 22 discussed the progress of the joint Ukrainian-U.S. military exercises in Lviv Oblast.

“The sides discussed the progress of the joint Ukrainian-American military exercises in the framework of the Fearless Guardian 2015 mission. Philip Breedlove said that tomorrow he will visit the International Center for Peacemaking and Security of the Western Operational Command of the Ground Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Yavoriv, where the training is taking place,” the press service of the Cabinet Ministers reported on the outcome of the meeting.

The central topic of the conversation was the practical measures of cooperation between Ukraine and its partners in the framework of the joint coordination committee on military cooperation and defense reforms to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, the reform of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to ensure their compatibility and compliance with NATO standards.

Yatseniuk noted that Breedlove is a great friend of the Ukrainian people, adding that the American people support the Ukrainians.
