Boosting the capacity of the Ukrainian railways in the direction of Mariupol and train traffic on the Zaporizhia-Polohy-Kamysh-Zoria-Volnovakha section is possible under the condition of building secondary railway lines, renovating railway stations and continuing electrification.

Deputy Director General of State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia Vitaliy Zhurakovsky told this to Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the existing technical capabilities of Prydniprovska and Donetsk Railways for handling passenger and freight trains in the direction of Mariupol (Volnovakha) have been fully used.

As reported with reference to chief business analyst of Ukrzaliznytsia’s main traffic department Mykola Topchiyev, the restoration of the damaged infrastructure of Donetsk Railways, according to preliminary estimates, will require Hr 878 million.
