A bill prepared by the Ukrainian government to introduce amendments to some laws on designated terrorist organizations has been tabled in parliament.

Respective bill No. 1840 was registered on Jan. 26 and sent to the parliament speaker and his deputies for further consideration, an announcement on the parliament’s website reads.

The bill stipulates that the Cabinet of Ministers is a subject of this legislative initiative, and the bill was initiated by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

An explanatory note to the bill says that Ukrainian laws don’t stipulate the procedure to designate an organization as a terrorist one. Therefore the bill introduces amendments to the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine, determining that cases to designate organizations as terrorist ones belong to the jurisdiction of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine as a court of first instance, and rulings to be issued by the court on designated terrorist organizations are subject to immediate execution.
