You're reading: Berlin not considering imposing next sanctions due to situation in Ukraine

 German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that new sanctions due to the situation in Ukraine are not on the agenda of Berlin.

“I want to say that this does not concern new sanction from Germany,” she said at a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Saturday, asked if it is planned to impose new sanctions due to the situation in Ukraine.

Merkel said that at a meeting with Poroshenko they discussed the formation of an international fund for the restoration of Donbas of EUR 500 million which will be sent to the restoration of infrastructure and improvement of the humanitarian situation in the eastern part of Ukraine.
