Twenty-four populated areas in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions remain without electricity, National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.

To date, 24 towns in the Shakhtarsk, Maryinka, Volnovakha, Yasynuvata and Telmanove districts and parts of the cities of Donetsk, Maryinka, Horlivka and Avdiyivka have remained cut off from electricity as a result of shelling, Lysenko said on Dec.26 briefing.

Between August and Dec. 15, a total of 5,166 facilities were repaired in the Donetsk region, including 411 residential buildings, 66 thermal-power supply facilities, 1,216 gas pipelines, three hospitals, 29 schools and 17 kindergartens, he said.
