Donetsk, September 1 (Interfax) - Anna News military correspondent Igor Nadyrshin was wounded in a gunfire attack in the village of Starobesheve in Ukraine' Donetsk region on Aug. 30. 

Nadyrshin told Interfax on Aug. 31 that that he was in Starobesheve to film a report on the aftermath of the fighting. He was with the Donetsk republic’s militia when shots were fired.

“I sustained a hip and hand injuries, and lost a finger. The commander was seriously wounded on the shoulder,” the journalist said.

“We were ambushed. It could be provocation,” he said.

Nadyrshin also said that he was wearing civilian clothes – jeans and a blue shirt – and was holding a camera. The militia fighters’ weapons were slung, not in a ready position,” he also said.

The reporter’s life is not in danger and he is being observed by doctors. Following recovery he wants to resume his work.
