Airbus and Boeing along with a number of other major aircraft manufacturers will take part in the MAKS Air Show in 2015, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Gleb Nikitin said.
“Such giant players in the aerospace industry like Airbus and Boeing and others have fully preserved their participation [at the air show],” Nikitin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the government.
He said that 156 companies from 30 countries will be present at the exhibition.
“The geopolitical situation and the position of the governments of a number of countries could not fail to have an effect on the number of participants, but the situation had much less influence than we expected,” Nikitin said.
Turkish, South African, and Chinese exhibitors have taken the places of other national representatives and companies who have left the exhibition, such as Ukraine and Israel.
The overall exhibition area for China has grown three-fold,” he said.
He said that there will be around 180 static airplane exhibitions, whereas at Le Bourget there were around 130.
“As usual we are organizing a colorful air demonstration, which will be unique in the world in terms of difficulty. The Tauris Wings group will take part for the first time using Yak-130 airplanes,” he said, inviting the Russian president to visit the air show.
