Agroliga agricultural group (Kharkiv Oblast) has completed a deal on the acquisition of corporate rights of Mayak LLC, which cultivates 1,800 hectares in Kharkiv Oblast.

According to a posting on the group’s website, Mayak specializes in the cultivation of wheat, barley, maize, and sunflower. The structure of its crop rotation in the 2015/2016 marketing year also includes winter rapeseeds.

“We use investment in the expansion of cultivated areas as a way to strengthen our position in the market of agricultural products in Kharkiv region. This transaction will allow to expand the group’s land bank from 7,500 ha to 9,300 ha,” reads the report citing company CEO Oleksandr Berdnyk.

Agroliga also noted that investment in the expansion of cultivated areas is part of the corporate strategy and is conducted in accordance with the medium-term plan to expand the land bank in 2013-2015 to 12,000 ha, which was announced at a primary listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Agroliga has been working in the Ukrainian market of agricultural products since 1992. Its enterprises are engaged in the cultivation of grains, sunflower seeds processing and dairy farming. The group cultivates land in Kharkiv Oblast.
