15 regions are coming to the 1st Ukrainian Tourist Festival ‘Welcome to Ukrainians 2015’

Delegates from 15 regions of Ukraine are coming to Kyiv to participate in the 1st Ukrainian Tourist Festival ‘Welcome to Ukrainians 2015’ planned for May, 30-31 at O.Fomin Botanic Garden.

The festival agenda: painting the longest ever paper Petrykivka ornament; workshops on weaving from pine roots, willow weaving, yarn dolls, straw weaving, Old Rus tools making, etc.; extreme tourism from Zakarpattia mountain climbing club and tea party with the most active participants; educational English-speaking seminar “I Love Ukraine”; theatrical performance of Poltava pastry traditions; wedding hair-dos and make-up marathon; fashion theatre Cleopatra – fashion show of ancient women wear from Sloboda Ukraine; Ukrainian food and drinks tasting, fair of domestic food; trade fair of traditional Ukrainian folk art items, handmade items and many other interesting activities.

Ukraine booms in Human Capital Rating

Ukraine was raised from 63rd to 31st place in the world rating ‘The Human Capital Report 2015’ with the result of 77,54 points. The research prepared by World Economic Forum and Mercer company embraces 124 countries.

They are ranked according to intellectual index – Human Capital Index: living standards, literacy, education and longevity of the population.

Finland tops in the rating.

29 chorus singers from Ukraine participated at Military Ball in Chicago

29 chorus singers directed by Volodymyr Popovych performed several songs at Military Ball Performance in Union League Club (Chicago).

The event was marked the Memorial Day. Ukrainian veterans of USA army also participated in a military parade.

Memorial Day is a national holiday in USA celebrated every year on the last Monday of May. This day is for remembering Americans who died in all wars and military conflicts where the country ever participated.

Ivan Chuprynko wins world powerlifting champion title

Ivan Chuprynko from Vinnytsia bested at bench press and sets world record (239.5kg) at World Powerlifting Championship in Sweden.

In total more than 200 athletes from 40 countries participated in the competition.

Ivan Chuprynko lives in Vinnytsia, graduated from local boarding school and teachers training University.

386 dancers performed hopak in Kherson

May, 23 on opening XVII International Festival ‘Melpomene of Tavria’ in Kherson 386 dancers danced hopak on the main city square.

The flashmob was participated by children and students from youth dance groups, and dancers of Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theatre as well.

After dancing all participants lined up and formed the map of Ukraine.
