Donetsk - A car which carried the prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Alexander Zakharchenko, came under fire in Donetsk on Aug. 30.

“Alexander Zakharchenko is alive and well. A shot was fired at his vehicle. We are pursuing all possible lines of inquiry into the incident,” DPR Security Council member Sergei Kavtaradze told Interfax on Aug. 30.

Meanwhile, DPR first deputy prime minister Andriy Purhin said it is premature to suspect an attempt on Zakharchenko’s life.

“The prime minister’s car was in fact in the fire zone, but he himself was not injured. It is too soon to call it an attempt on life. First we need to clarify all circumstances, how the car got there,” he told Interfax.
