Rostov-on-Don -- Members of the German parliament's The Left Party will hold a meeting with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) monitors working on the Russian-Ukrainian border in Russia's Rostov region on Nov. 20, a regional government spokesman told Interfax.

“On Wednesday, the German parliamentarians visited a temporary shelter for Ukrainian refugees located on the premises of a children’s health-improvement center in the Neklinov district of the Rostov region, as well as a rural high school. The parliamentarians asked refugees about their living conditions, whether or not they plan to return home and, first and foremost, the reasons that forced these people to leave their homes in Ukraine,” the spokesman said.

The main goal of this visit is to compile an analytical report, which The Left Party plans to present in the German parliament, he said.

Before leaving for Odesa on Thursday, the German delegation will meet with OSCE monitors in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky of the Rostov region.

“Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee member Wolfgang Gerge has said his firm position after his meetings with the refugees is that the entire European community should take all possible measures along with Russia in order to secure an end to fighting in Ukraine and send humanitarian aid to refugees,” the spokesman said.
