You're reading: Ukraine, Georgia discuss European integration and regional security

The delegations of the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Georgia, headed by Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Halibarenko and Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania, held political consultations on Thursday, during which they discussed partnership between the two countries in the context of European integration and regional security, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported on Nov. 28.

 The sides discussed in detail the current state of the Ukrainian-Georgian political dialogue and the schedule of high-level bilateral events in the near future.

“Special attention was paid to the intensification of cooperation and mutual support between Ukraine and Georgia as part of international organizations, in particular, in the context of consolidating international support against Russian aggression with respect to Ukraine and Georgia,” the report says.

Following the meeting the sides agreed to continue the exchange of experience in the sphere of European integration, in particular, in the context of the implementation of association agreements with the EU and visa-free dialogue. The sides also agreed to coordinate their positions on topical international issues.

During the consultations the diplomats confirmed their unchanged positions on support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and Georgia.
