Moscow - The Russian government has voiced its regret over the Polish authorities' decision to cancel the Year of Poland in Russia set for 2015.
“It is a great pity. We can only regret this decision,” the Russian
prime minister’s spokesperson Natalia Timakova told Interfax.
It was announced on Thursday, July 24 that the Polish government had decided
not to hold the Year of Poland in Russia in 2015 citing the situation in
Ukraine.
The Russian and Polish foreign ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Radoslaw
Sikorski, agreed in December 2013 that the cultural exchanges between
their countries would take place in 2015.
