The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has granted a Prosecutor General's request on prosecuting Serhiy Melnychuk, a former commander of the Aidar volunteer battalion and currently an unaffiliated deputy.

262 parliamentarians voted for this decision.

At the same time, the parliament objected to the prosecutor general’s request on detaining and then arresting Melnychuk, as only 32 and 16 parliamentarians respectively voted for this.
