The Presidential Administration of Ukraine has announced a state visit by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko to Poland on Dec. 17-18.

“On Dec. 17-18, the president will go to Poland as part of a state visit,” Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly said in Kyiv on Dec. 15.

According to Chaly, decisions related to local border traffic will be made as a part of the visit, in particular, with reference to increasing the amount of Ukrainian settlements covered by the border traffic framework.

The issues of Ukrainian students receiving education in Poland, and bringing Ukrainian infrastructure in line with European standards will be discussed as well.

“A separate decision will be made regarding cooperation over local government reform in Ukraine,” he said, whilst pointing out that Polish experience in this regard was of interest to Ukraine.

A visit by the Ukrainian president to the location of Combined Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade is being planned as well. “Thus, the issue of military-technical cooperation and security will be an important part of this visit,” Chaly said.
