You're reading: MPs from UDAR want to toughen economic sanctions against Russia

The UDAR Group of the Petro Poroshenko's Block (PPB) faction insists on toughening economic sanctions against Russia and believes that trade with Russian goods and their transit, apart from the critical group, should be banned, and temporary administrations should be introduced at Russian banks in Ukraine.

“We [the UDAR group] believe that Russian hydrocarbons, such as oil, ammonia, cannot be transited via Ukraine, apart from the critical imports Ukraine requires,” MP from PPB Yuriy Solovei said.

In addition, the UDAR group believes that temporary administrations should be introduced at Russian banks operating in Ukraine and control where Russian capital goes on the territory of Ukraine.

Solovei also said that the lawmakers believe that each company which has over 50% of shares belonged to Russian shareholders is to pay at least 10 percent of military tax for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He said that the UDAR group plans to submit the relevant draft law on economic sanctions against Russia.
