Ukraine has initiated a special meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs to discuss the Ukrainian issue, the information policy department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on July 21.

Commenting on this initiative, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that “despite the new international context of the situation in Ukraine, which appeared after the tragedy with the Malaysian aircraft, and despite the obvious involvement of illegal Moscow-sponsored terrorist groups in the crime, Russia continues ignoring demands by the international community and refuses to take a constructive stand in order to de-escalate the situation.”

An open meeting of the enlarged bureau of the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels is scheduled for the afternoon on July 22, the department said.
