Kaliningrad - The EU's sanctions against Russia are not an end in itself and are not directed against ordinary Russian citizens, Head of the EU Delegation to Russia Vygaudas Usackas told journalists on Oct. 31.

“I would like to stress that the sanctions are not an end in itself. They are not directed against an ordinary person, a citizen of Russia,” Usackas said. “The goal of the sanctions is to influence Russia’s actions and decisions in relation to Ukraine,” he said.

“We are ready to reconsider the sanctions as soon as we see concrete results of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the protocol and the memorandum, negotiations on which have been held at the top level all the time,” Usackas said. “As soon as we see concrete results, we are interested in revoking the sanctions, but there should be a positive reason for this,” he said.
