The commission of Kyiv City Council for budget and social and economic development has decided to put the issue of providing 102 apartments to Elita-center fraud victims on the agenda of the next session of the council.

According to a Nov. 5 report of Kyiv City Administration, the draft decision says that 102 apartments are foreseen in three buildings built by public joint-stock company Kyivmiskbud Holding at 40, Drahomanova Street, 1A, Khorolska Street and at the intersection of Armianska Street and Kharkivske Shose.

After the decision is made the documents for registering ownership rights to apartments will be transferred to fraud victims.

Another four houses, where apartments for the fraud victims are foreseen, are being built.

A massive scam was uncovered on the real estate market in Kyiv in 2006. About 1,759 people were defrauded by the Elita-Center Group, whose representatives took money from the public as payment for housing that was not built. The total sum stolen from the victims was estimated at about Hr 400 million.
