 Vitali Klitschko, leader of the party UDAR, was nominated for the post of Kyiv mayor at a recent conference of the party's Kyiv city organization. Klitschko reiterated that his priority is to destroy the barriers that keep Kyiv from developing freely and successfully, the UDAR press service reported on April 23.

 “For this reason, our first priority is corruption prevention. It’s Kyiv’s transparent budget and dismissal of corrupt officials. The Kyiv administration should be controlled by society. The second priority is investment appeal. Both Ukrainian and foreign, The third priority is the use of the Kyiv budget for meeting the needs of the people of Kyiv,” Klitschko said.

The main goal now is to make Kyiv a European city, which will set an example for turning Ukraine into a European country, he said.

“We are running in the Kyiv elections to implement our program. Our goal is to get a majority in the Kyiv council, which will eventually resolve the problems of the capital and its residents in cooperation with our factions in parliament. I am confident that change will begin from Kyiv,” Klitschko said.

The conference of the UDAR Kyiv city organization has also nominated candidates to the post of the Kyiv city council by lists and majority districts.
