Fighting is continuing in the combat area near the communities of Ilovaisk, Novosvitlivka, Khriaschuvate, Malomykolayivka, Illiriya, and Savur-Mohyla in eastern Ukraine, says Dmytro Tymchuk, the head of the Kyiv-based group Informational Resistance (www.sprotyv.info).
“The situation in the area of the community of Stanytsia Luhanska, where terrorists have accumulated human and military equipment resources and do not stop attempts of returning it, remains tense,” Tymchuk said on Facebook on Aug. 23 morning.
Tymchuk also claimed that Ukrainian military positions near Vasylivka, Krynychne and Verhunsky Rozyizd have been shelled.
At the same time, Ukrainian security forces managed to destroy two Grad rocket launchers, two anti-aircraft guns, an artillery gun, and two mortars, Tymchuk said.
