The Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry should develop and export products to new markets, including Europe, said the Health Minister of Ukraine Alexander Kvitashvili.

“The Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry should develop and bring its products to new markets. Moreover, the industry has many jobs, and it brings revenue to the budget. We’ll do this so that local production wins from our reforms. We don’t want to infringe anyone’s interests, and we want to make sure that corruption is removed from drug relegation and licensing,” told the Health Minister of Ukraine Alexander Kvitashvili.

Kvitashvili said that Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies should be supported.

“Ukrainian manufacturers will get a chance to work under normal conditions. We want to remove corruption from the system, remove officials who take bribes for rubber stamps, and who are used by various groups, including pharmaceutical groups, in their intrigues. We should have normal and fair rules. There will be always corporate espionage, but the state and officials will not be involved in this,” said the newly appointed Health Minister.

“We’ll work with local pharmaceutical companies in order they become stronger and are able to enter new markets. For Ukraine this is a unique chance to enter the European market with large financial opportunities, but they need help to enter it. We’ll provide support to local manufacturers,” the minister added.
