You're reading: Ukraine, EIB sign agreement on 400 million euro loan to support small and medium businesses

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a 400 million euro loan in support of projects ran by small and medium businesses and middle capitalization companies.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and EIB Vice President Laszlo Baranyay signed the Apex Loan for SMEs & Mid-Caps (Ukraine) in Kyiv on Dec.22, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

The EIB Board of Directors approved this draft loan agreement on Dec. 16, 2014, and the Ukrainian government approved it on Dec. 19.

The funds for all projects will be assigned to banks which will then provide them to the enterprises, which are the ultimate borrowers.
