Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) is in talks with Ukrainian tour operators on the sale of ticket blocks on Kyiv-Zurich flights, Head of the airline's representative office in Ukraine Patrick Heymann said during a presentation of the flight in Kyiv late on Tuesday, November 5.

“The price of a ticket starts from $300, and we’re in talks with tour
operators on the sale of the ticket blocks,” he said, while not
disclosing the number of operators with which the company is holding
talks.

Chief Commercial Officer at Swiss International Air Lines Markus
Binkert told Interfax-Ukraine that taking into account the number of
tickets booked for the flight, the company expects that the flight will
be loaded well.

“It’s hard to speak [about the loading]. We should be patient at the
beginning until the route starts working, but the loading is not the key
point for us. The average revenue is more important for us, but we
believe that we’ll have enough loading with local passengers – Swiss
residents who will fly to Kyiv and passengers from Ukraine,” he said.

Asked if the airline plans to launch flights to Kyiv from Basel and
Geneva (where the airline is based too), Binkert said that the issue
could be studied by Swiss when the airline sees positive indicators from
the Kyiv-Zurich flight.

As reported, Swiss International Air Lines commenced scheduled
services to Kyiv from Zurich with the start of the 2013/14 winter
timetable period on October 27. The airline said that Kyiv would receive
daily services from Zurich, provided by an Airbus A320.

According to the schedule, the aircraft departs from Zunich at 9.45
a.m. and arrives at Kyiv at 1.20 p.m., and then departed from Kyiv at 2.30 p.m.and
arrives at Zurich at 4.10 p.m.(local time for all departures and arrivals).

Swiss International Air Lines operates flights to 75 destinations in
40 countries from Zurich, Basel, and Geneva. Its fleet consists of 92
aircraft, among which are Airbus A319, А320, А321, А333, А340 and Avro
RJ100 aircraft.

The airline is part of Lufthansa Group and a member of the Star Alliance.
