PrivatBank and state-owned Oschadbank and Ukreximbank retained their position as the largest Ukrainian banks in terms of assets in 2014, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks, with reference to an ANBU commission on the supervision and regulation of banks’ activities decision (No. 614), dated December 30, the main criteria over which banks are the largest was the size of assets, whereas previously, when dividing banks into groups, the NBU took into account the size of regulatory capital as well.

According to the results of the banks’ activities in 2014, the group of the largest banks increased from 15 to 16, due to the inclusion of OTP Bank.

Delta Bank remained at fourth place, Prominvestbank, Sberbank of Russia, Alfa-Bank, Bank Finance and Credit, and Bank Nadra all climbed one position, Raiffeisen Bank Aval and UkrSibbank fell one position, while FUIB dropped from eight to 11th place.
