The Presidential Administration of Ukraine has received a letter concerning a claim made by a Dutch company – the co-owner of AeroSvit airline, which has halted its operation.

“We’ve received a letter from the Dutch company-co-owner of AeroSvit – nine pages of claims and accusations. They’re threatening with court [action] and propose to settle the issue. This should be also settled, although these are no reforms. The worst thing that that we will have to take a couple of employees and pull them out of working processes to tackle the materials and it will take a couple of days,” deputy head of the presidential administration Dmitry Shymkiv wrote on his Facebook page.

Shymkiv told Interfax-Ukraine that Gilward Investments B.V. sent the letter.

He added that the letter does not state a claim against Ukraine for a certain sum, and that it is only a large text containing claims.

AeroSvit airline, which was the largest Ukrainian carrier, started bankruptcy procedures in December 2012, which was canceled by a Ukrainian court. The airline has stopped operating and does not carry out flights.

In early 2013 it was reported that Dutch Gilward Investments B.V. owned about 38 percent of the stocks in the company, the State Property Fund ha d a 22.4 percent stake, and the Ukrainian companies GenAviaInvest, Investment Advisors Group and Bureau held 24.99 percent, 9.8 percent and 4.8 percent of the airline’s shares respectively.
