Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will suggest that the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) ban the participation of Russian entities in the privatization of Ukrainian state property, Ukraine's Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko told journalists in Kyiv on Aug. 22.

“Clearly, we will raise the issue of banning the participation of Russian entities in privatization of Ukrainian state property (such a provision has been formalized in the law on sanctions),” he said.

According to the minister, the government will suggest that NSDC ban procurement of Russian goods for state agencies, companies and enterprises.

Certain restrictive measures will also be initiated in the financial sector, as well as other sanctions.

“This is a reasonable way to respond to Russia’s unfriendly actions, as in fact [Russia] is already implementing sanctions against our goods as restrictions of imports to their territory. We are waiting for this decision in the near future,” Petrenko summed up.

He said that only a part of sanctions approved by the NSDC would be made public.
