Ukraine's woes may have been overshadowed by the Russian carnage today, but Kyiv's government bonds have slid to a new low as fears of a default continue to mount. The $2.6 billion Ukrainian bond due in 2017 has slumped to just 61.6 cents on the dollar, a new record low and equal to an annual yield of over 32 per cent. The $1.25 billion bond maturing in 2023 has fallen to 58.3 cents on the dollar, or a yield of over 17 per cent.
