Ukrainian MFA invites to join video contest #ThisIsUkraine

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine MFA of Ukraine initiated a video contest #ThisIsUkraine.

For participation one should shoot a 15 second video of Ukraine’s place and e-mail to [email protected] or publish it on Facebook or Instagram pages with adding a place description and #ThisIsUkraine.

The winners will be able to participate in the celebrations Foreign Ministry to mark the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and receive a gift from Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Affairs Minister.

25 best videos will be included in an interactive tourist guide of Ukraine’s places to learn more about and visit.

On Independence Day the Ministry will present contest results on its official pages in social networks.

‘Life after injury’ project gets Grand Prix in US

Photographer Oleksii Furman won the Grand Prix of IAFOR Documentary Photography Award. This year’s festival theme was justice.

His project ‘Life after injury’ is dedicated to difficulties of psychological rehabilitation faced by ATO soldiers. Oleksii plans to make 15 photo stories about young Ukrainian soldiers wounded during the war in Donbas.

The festival was participated by over 150 photographers from 50 countries.

Anastasia Ivanova, Ukrainian designer, opened a boutique in New York (5 Avenue, Manhattan). 5 Avenue is the street which is considered to be one of the most famous and respectable streets of the world. This prestigious New York Fashion District is a place where showrooms of numerous international designers, companies and brands are located.

Now the boutique in New York offers Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

This autumn Wizz Air to connect Kyiv with Hannover and Wroclaw

This autumn Wizz Air airlines will open two new flights from Kyiv.

October, 31 Kyiv-Hannover flight will be available, and on November, 1 Kyiv-Wroclaw flights will be performed.

Flights to Hannover will run every Monday and Friday, planes to Wroclaw will fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Young physicists win five medal in Switzerland

High school students from Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa and Brovary (Kyiv Oblast) won 5 medals at the International Physical Olympiad held in Zurich (Switzerland).

Oleksandr Shumayev (Kharkiv) got a gold medal, Oleksandr Nikolayenko (Kharkiv), Vladyslav Verteletskyi (Kyiv) and Roman Soletskyi (Odesa) became silver prize-winners.

The bronze medal was secured by Oleksandr Buhayko from Brovary.

The participants had to solve both theoretical and experimental (practical) tasks.

International Physical Olympiad (IPhO) is an annual physics competition for high school students. The first IPhO was held in 1967 in Warsaw.
