U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie L. Yovanovitch has visited Kharkiv-based public JSC Turboatom, the enterprise's press service reported.

The diplomat visited different units of the enterprise and held talks with its management.

Director General of Turboatom Viktor Subotin told Yovanovitch about economic, financial and social activities of the plant, as well as its cooperation with U.S. companies Holtec International and Westinghouse Electric Company.

Yovanovitch said that this was not her first visit to Kharkiv, but that she visited an enterprise of such kind for the first time in her life. The ambassador said she was impressed by the reforms and changes that were made by the company’s management, as well as by tangible achievements, which the company has reached in recent years, both in terms of revenues and social benefits, the press service said.

With regard to the partnership between Turboatom and the U.S. companies, Yovanovitch stressed that she was looking forward to further cooperation and development of close business ties that would be beneficial for both the American and Ukrainian sides.

As reported, the Ukrainian government put a 75.22% stake in the OJSC Turboatom on the list of companies which will be put up for sale in 2016-2017.

Turboatom is the only Ukrainian producer of turbine equipment for hydro, thermal and nuclear power plants.
