Tensions persist in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in Donbas, and the hostiles continue to breach the Minsk agreements pertaining to the withdrawal of heavy armaments, Vadym Skibitsky from the Main Intelligence Department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has said.

“Tensions persist along the entire line of contact due to intense gunfire of the hostiles and their attempts to push ATO forces out of strongholds near Svitlodarsk, the Avdiyivka industrial zone and Donetsk outskirts,” Skibitsky said at a press briefing in Kyiv on July 22.

“Militants are conducting active intelligence operations using Russian hardware, and their units are being reinforced, rotated and stocked with ammunition,” Skibitsky said.

“In the past week, Ukrainian intelligence observed 54 violations of the Minsk agreements in regard to the withdrawal of heavy weapons. Five incidents of the kind were seen within the 15-kilometer zone, including those involving 45 tanks and five mortars. Most of those weapons were concentrated in Horlivka, Debaltseve, Donetsk, Telmanove, and Yakovlivka. Ninety SAU artillery systems were seen in the 25-kilometer zone,” he said.
