The SBU Security Service of Ukraine has accused a female deputy head of a department at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), who was a former citizen of Russia, of corruption while unlawfully working for another organization.
“The law-enforcement agencies have established that a former Russian citizen received Ukrainian citizenship in 2002. In 2013-2014, she worked for the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow, occupying senior positions. During her work at NABU, receiving a [monthly] salary of almost UAH 40,000 and having access to classified information, she three times participated in events of a European fund as a ‘coach,'” the SBU’s press service said on Monday.
Thus, the civil servant violated Article 25 of the law of Ukraine on prevention of corruption and Part 2 of Article 13 of the law of Ukraine on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
SBU agents upon agreement with the Prosecutor General’s Office drew up a protocol against the NABU’s employee on an administrative offence under Part 1, Article 172-4 (violation of limitations on combining jobs and types of activity) of the Administrative Offense Code of Ukraine.
“The protocol was sent to Kyiv’s Solomyansky district court for consideration,” the SBU said.
