MINSK - Moscow believes fundamentally important decisions aimed at settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine should be made not unilaterally but based on agreements reached between the conflicting parties.

“I’ll stress once again: any attempts to adopt documents on a constitutional reform or elections in Donbas unilaterally, without coordination with the other party, are at least unconstructive and are not conducive to the establishment of peace,” Russian permanent representative to the Trilateral Contact Group for settling the conflict in Ukraine Boris Gryzlov said.

“Kyiv, the entire coalition of political forces ruling in Ukraine, should assume the obligation to clearly reflect all agreements reached in Minsk in the laws adopted by the Verkhovna Rada,” Gryzlov said following a Contact Group meeting in Minsk on August 26.
