You're reading: Putin arrives in Crimea to meet with Security Council members

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday arrived in Crimea where he is due to hold a meeting with the country's Security Council (SC) members.

The president will also meet with participants of the Tavrida national youth education forum in the northwestern part of the Crimean peninsula.

This will be Putin’s first visit to Tavrida Camp. Last year its participants met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The Tavrida forum has been held since 2014 and acquired its own “specialization” last year: with Crimea always of particular importance to Russian culture, the forum is attended by young composers, choreographers, architects, writers, playwrights, actors and directors.
