You're reading: Parliament amends law on stimulating public private partnership

The Ukrainian parliament has amended bill No. 1058 on lifting regulatory barriers to develop public private partnership in Ukraine and stimulating investment passed at second reading on Nov. 24, 2015.

A total of 227 lawmakers supported the decision.

Chair of the parliamentary committee for industrial policy and entrepreneurship Viktor Halasiuk called on the lawmakers to support the bill, adding that the amendments are of the technical character and they remove legal collisions.

“These amendments would allow the parliamentary speaker to sign the bill and the president would not have to veto it due to this collision,” Halasiuk said.

As reported, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the bill provides for simplifying the procedure of procurement of goods, labor and services from private partners within public private partnership, expanding the list of contracts that can be signed within the framework of such partnership, singling out projects in the framework of this partnership from common contracts for building objects that are financed for the funds of the national or local budgets.
