The leaders of "Normandy Four' countries have reached consensus on their next meeting, the Ukrainian presidential administration said.

“It is true that we have reached consensus on the need to hold a ‘Normandy Four’ summit and that preparations are underway,” Ukrainian presidential administration deputy head Kostiantyn Yelisieiev said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Sept. 23.

The date of this meeting has yet to be chosen, and the negotiations will happen after the sides prepare relevant documents, he said.

“The summit will take place after documents which take account of interests, above all and including those of Ukraine, are properly prepared,” Yelisieiev said.

Energetic efforts are being taken in various formats, he said, adding that the work is focused on a draft roadmap for implementation of the Minsk Agreements. “It is very important that the sides agree with the [Ukrainian] president’s initiative, declaring the need to prepare a so-called roadmap for implementation of the Minsk Agreements, which will provide a clear sequence of actions and clear guarantees that what is done will be complied with,” he said.

He said he expected the sides to reach compromise and to coordinate the roadmap. “We will be looking for compromise, which is absolutely not a concession: there can be no concessions in matters pertaining to sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country,” Yelisieiev said.
