You're reading: Italian Carabinieri start training Ukrainian national guards

Italian experts for the protection of public order started on August 29 a comprehensive training program for servicemen of Ukraine's National Guard at the Novi Petrivtsi training center in Kyiv region.

“The four-week course will include first learning the basis of the new specifics of policing the streets of the country: patrolling inaccessible areas, rules and procedures for the detention of offenders and criminals; procedures for treating citizens; procedures for detention of dangerous criminals; procedures for Carabinieri for the time of natural disasters (floods, earthquakes),” the press service of the National Guard reported.

The exercises will involve an Italian police lieutenant, a senior warrant officer and a junior sergeant; from the National Guard of Ukraine – 36 servicemen involved in the protection of public order, two teachers of the department of tactics of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine and two representatives from the Zolochiv (Lviv region).
