The Russian Federation in the person of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine has officially received a court decision to arrest $3 billion of the loan of the Russian Federation taken in December 2013 when Viktor Yanukovych was Ukrainian president and to prohibit public agencies from making any payments under the loan.

The press service of Batkivschyna Party reported on June 23, referring to a member of the political council of the party and Chairman of the Sila Prava team Andriy Senchenko, the confirmation arrived to the Holosiyivksy district court of Kyiv on June 22.

Senchenko recalled that on May 30, 2016 the Holosiyivksy district court satisfied the application for securing the claim of a representative of Sila Prava and internally displaced Iryna Verhina against Russia. The court adjudicated arrest claims under the trust agreement signed on December 24, 2013 by Ukraine and the Law Debenture Trust Corporation Plc and bans persons from taking legal steps to change or terminate these claims, or to transferring them to other legal bodies.

Senchenko said that the term to appeal the decision expired and it took effect.

“The money of the aggressor state would be used to compensate losses to Ukrainian citizens who suffered from armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine using court decisions,” he said.

“Compensation will be paid to the following categories of conflict-hit people: families of killed troops and civilians; troops and civilians who were wounded; military prisoners; civilians who were unlawfully imprisoned on the occupied territories and in the Russian Federation; internally displaced persons from occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas; and citizens who lost their personal assets,” the press service said.
