MOSCOW - Russian permanent envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin hopes that an end to the Syrian and Ukrainian crises is going to be put before UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon leaves his office this year.

“Many things have to happen in this half-year. We hope that a line will be finally drawn under the Syrian crisis,” he said on Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television.

“I hope that a line is going to be drawn under the Ukrainian crisis as well,” Churkin said.
