MOSCOW - Several military units of the reactivated 150th Motorized Rifle Division will be stationed in the city of Millerovo in Rostov region, the Southern Military District headquarters reported.

“Military engineers are completing the demolition of discarded buildings and facilities in the garrison town in Millerovo in order to clean up the territory and subsequently build the infrastructure for the stationing of military units of the reactivated 150th Motorized Rifle Division,” the press service of the Southern Military District said in a statement sent to Interfax-AVN on May 19.

According to the information from the military district headquarters, the military units of the reactivated 150th Motorized Rifle, Order of Kutuzov 2nd class, ‘Idritskaya-Berlin’ Division, whose soldiers first raised the Soviet flag over the Reichstag in May 1945, will be stationed in garrison towns in the territory of Rostov region.

The building of infrastructure for the new motorized rifle troops has begun from the foundation stage. In particular, the installation of combat training and community infrastructure facilities using the latest technologies has already begun at the training area near Novocherkassk, the press service said in a statement.

Russian Railway Troops are carrying out the construction of the railway line Zhuravka-Millerovo in the territory of the Voronezh and Rostov regions, bypassing the territory of Ukraine. Seven railway stations and five sub-stations are due to be built, as well as the carrying out of the electrification of the entire branch of the railway line.
